Help setting up a pond

Hi,
My son really wants to put a pond in our back yard but I don't have a clue on how to do it . Can someone give me some suggestions. I am thinking about having someone due it professionally. But, how do I care for it afterwards. Do I need to use special chemicles? Do I need to clean it out everyday like I would a swimming pool? Does it need a filter and do I need to clean it out once in a while? What types of fish can I put in there. Can I use other fish beside koi?

I dont know much but I know you need a filter, and you can put loads of different fish in like mirror carp, orfe, goldfish. ect.

you could do a serch on google for the info..sorry i cant be of more help....but a good filter is definitey a must...ask your local pet shop specialising in pond fish

We have a pnd outside. It is a wooden one!!!
We have 2 carp a shubumkin an goldfis and a diamond back sturgeon.

Its been running for 4 years today!!! Wedding pressie.

We just have a pump and lots of live plants in there.

Holds about 50 gallon and water parameters are excellent.
