For those of you who may not know, a new genus of fish was found a few years ago in Burma, the Galaxy Rasbora or Celestial Pearl Danio. They are a lovely little fish about an inch long with brilliant colours.
In the few short years the fish is now almost extinct with many lfs selling them.
THe point is ..and there is one...These fish should not be bought. If the lfs cant sell them, they wont import them and we will have these nice little fish for a while longer

I agree and disagree.
If you are going to try and breed them I think you should be allowed to keep them, but as I have read on other forums people have bought these fish not knowing how to care for them and they have died needlesly.

I'm inclined to agree
A few people here in Ireland are looking at breeding them. But will they be extinct by the time they are bred successfully?

This just goes to show how important conservation is. Thsi fish has probably survived for hundreds of thousands of years on it's own. Us humans come along and discover it and it is almost extinct in just a short amount of time. We need to keep in check our need to consume and just let things live peacefully. I'm glad this topic was posted. I will definatelya void this fish. Thanks.

I think it is official. No one needs us. THEY all live close and have the time of our lives while we are all alone. Well you would probably rather be alone. So you are worse off. GOOD BYE WORLD.
Let me know if anyone is going to be in ohio in the next couple days.
