I was using Tetra Pro Flakes which enhance the colour but my lfs pointed out that its higher in protein and hence nore noxious waste and is full of hormones..not good for the fishies

He recommended New Life Spectrum which comes in all sorts of granule sizes for different fish. It also contains garlic to boost their immunity.
He showed me his fish being fed on it and they all went wild for the granules..the discus even followed the container down the outside of the tank and went into a frenzy eating it...as did angels and tetras .

Plus at €15 for a 300 gram box its cheaper than most of the other brands....For the record, its all he feeds them.

Eat some veggies with fiber. Things like broccoli and spinach, which are also filled with vitamins. Fish, especially wild salmon, is healthy for your heart as it has Omgega 3 oils that help your heart. Fruit of any type is good for you. I take Metamucil every day to help keep bowels firm, but not too firm. I think the key to bowel program is to not change things too much all at once. If you give your body time to get use to new things and not eat too much of something new until you know the affect it will have on you things are easier.
